Well, it's not really a super spooky update haha, but I wanted to make a short post about these cute little Halloween brooches I've started making. We don't really celebrate Halloween here in Australia, but once I started sewing together these felt Halloween-themes brooches, I just couldn't stop myself! The good news is, I'll be adding them one by one to my Etsy shop, so if you're interested in purchasing one please head on over there and have a look :) I've already completed a cat one (as a gift for a friend though) and a bat one which will be for sale, and the next few brooches will include a jack-o-lantern, a ghost, another bat and possibly a witch, so check by my Etsy in the next few days if you're interested in one of these!

Etsy Update

Running an Etsy shop is very much a part-time thing for me - I wish I had more time to put into it, traveling around rummaging through op-shops and thrift stores is my dream! However, a full-time university course gets in the way, plus a part-time writing job...sigh* Anyhow, here are some new items I have added to my store. The best bit? They're all under $25! Bargain :)

Naomi Murrell
"Naomi's whimsical imagery is inspired by what she finds when she gets lost in her imagination. Driven by the impulse to capture beauty and share it with others, her work is big on hope, happiness and simple pleasures"
Naomi Murrell makes beautiful jewellery and unique illustrative works for fun lovers. I've often come across her lovely designs in magazines such as Frankie and Yen, so thought I'd check her website out for myself. If you're after a treat for yourself or a special friend, I suggest you check it out for yourself as well - you won't be disappointed, I guarantee!

Tea and Tulips Boutique
I recently came across this beautiful vintage boutique called Tea and Tulips, and instantly fell in love with it. The one-of-a-kind, delicate vintage items look picture perfect - I would happily love to buy them all! The shop is run by Stefanie, an incredibly talented fashionista based in Miami, and she also has a lovely blog called Steffy's Pros and Cons which I strongly suggest you check out!

Blog Love: Unknown Pleasures

Today I happily stumbled upon a wonderful little blog find - Unknown Pleasures. Ally Carey, a model and fellow Australian, runs the blog and describes it as "a narrative of my musings and observations on the Fashion Industry." I also happily discovered that Ally is the owner of Who Killed Bambi, an online boutique which specialises in customised vintage and awesome new clothing. If you're like me and you love your vintage, then I strongly recommend you check out the site here. I know I'll be adding it to my favourites :)

Arabella Ramsay: A/W 2012
Arabella Ramsay's Autumn / Winter 2012 collection is titled 'The Apple of My Isle' and it will transport you to faraway seaside villages where you can sit on a wharf watching the sail boats drift by, a soft and salty breeze rippling through your hair. You can view the entire collection here - Happy browsing!

Strummer AW 12: Baby Blues
Model Tiah Eckhardt shines beautifully in this video for Strummer's latest lookbook. Old, torn floral curtains line the tiny windows of rickety caravans. The days are long and hot, to the point where perhaps a dreamy haze has set in, but with clothes as lovely as these she doesn't even care if a black cat crosses her path. You can view some photos from the lookbook here - Enjoy!

Pretty Journal Love!
There is nothing better than beautiful words with beautiful pictures to match. These notebooks from Typo have taken out the top spots on my wishlist, not only are they all extremely affordable (less than $12AUD), but their aesthetic value is out-of-this-world! To see more of the collection you can head to this website. With frequent sales on stationary, you may even find yourself a bargain (or two...or three...)

To Be Adored New Lookbook
It is safe to say that fashion label TBA's new collection will be adored! The dresses remind me of Summertime, frolicking in fields and picking flowers to put in your hair. I love anything lately with a soft, feminine collar, so the latest threads from TBA will have to go straight to the top of my wishlist! You can view the entire lookbook here and if you have some spare cash to spare (lucky you!) why not check out the online shop.

Vintage Pastel Blouses
Since I've been struck down these last two days with a case of food poisoning (not very pleasant, I know) I have been trawling through Etsy to try and cure my boredom and cheer me up a little. I have a bit of an obsession with vintage pastel blouses, all the better if they have collars as well! Above are a few of my favourite finds and below I've provided the links in case one tickles your fancy and you wish to purchase it.

Peacependant Vintage Lookbook
I've been a bit of a busy bee today taking photos for my new Etsy shop. I had lots of fun trying on all the different vintage clothes I've collected to sell and mixing and matching them with one another. All I need to do now though is to take proper photos of each item to upload that show the item from the front and back etc. I didn't realise there would be this much work involved! Over the next few days I will also be visiting places to try and find more unique and lovely vintage clothes to sell. Thank you all for your kind patience :) I've been looking forward to this project for a very long time so am trying to make it as perfect as possible!
