At Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week, Karl Lagerfeld
chose to transform the runway into a fairytale forest, complete with a
snow-covered floor and green shrubbery. The location of the event, the Grand Palais, worked
perfectly with the enchanting collection, reminiscent of wintery woodland
scenes from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The collection began with tailored
tweed jackets of a sparkling ivory and dresses of clean-cut silhouettes. Models
then glided along the runway, draped in gowns of the finest lace and silk, and
adorned with feathers, glitter or bold floral designs. The show closed with two
models dressed in delicate wedding gowns with white, feathered headdresses and
a small pageboy, also dressed in white, by their side. The collection has been
greatly praised, proving that the ‘king-of-fashion’, Karl Lagerfeld, is still
the best in the business. To see the rest of the Chanel Haute Couture 2013 Collection, click here.
